A Newfane man told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies that sometime over the weekend, someone broke into his truck and took a Magellan GPS, $20 cash and $3 in coins.
The complainant told patrol that the vehicle was parked in his driveway and was locked when it was broken into. He said that the vehicle was entered through the rear sliding window of the truck and that the lock on the window had been broken off. Patrol observed the lock on the window to be broken and multiple smudged hand and finger prints on the window. Patrol looked at the window for a possible fingerprint but none were clean enough to lift off the window.
Patrol said that a report would be filed.
