Genesee Community College proudly announces that nine students from East Niagara are among 577 students who were named to the President's List for the Fall 2013 semester.

This year's Genesee Community College Fall 2013 President's List local honorees, with their hometowns, are:

• Emily Whitehead of Burt
• Sharon Cooper of Gasport
• Karen Hagar-Flick of Gasport
• Matthew Crosby of Middleport
• Christine Furmanek of Middleport
• Steven King of Middleport
• Michelle Parker of Middleport
• Cierra Samanka of Middleport
• Brigitte Schweigert of Middleport

Students honored on the President's List have maintained full-time enrollment and earned a quality point index of 3.75 (roughly equivalent to an A) or better. The College also maintains a Dean's List comprised of students who earn a quality point index of 3.50 to 3.74. Genesee's Dean's List will be released in the next several weeks.
With the main campus in Batavia, New York and six campus centers located in Albion, Arcade, Dansville, Lima, Medina and Warsaw, Genesee Community College serves more than 7,000 students. As part of the State University of New York (SUNY), GCC offers more than 60 academic programs and certificates.
