PHOTOS BY HEATHER N. GRIMMER/CONTRIBUTOR - Niagara County Sheriff's Office personnel and New York State Police responded to Sunoco in the Town of Lockport around 11 p.m. Sunday. It was the third armed-robbery call of the day for local police.

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office has yet to release further details from the robbery at the Sunoco station at South Transit and Robinson roads shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday.

A Sunoco employee and an unknown man wait outside the
gas station Sunday night while an NCSO Crime Scene Unit
searches for evidence inside the store.
It was the third knife-point robbery of the day in East Niagara.

The first robbery took place at the South Transit Road NOCO station around 3 p.m. The suspect ran towards the Woodlands Mobile Home Park and entered an unknown white vehicle, which had two other people waiting in it.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early 20s, about 5-foot 9-inches with a thin build and scruffy beard. He wore a blue knit hat with a Sabres and Labatt's Blue logo and his coat had a large British flag on the back. The coat was reportedly ditched in the fields between the gas station and the mobile home park, however.

The second robbery took place at the Crosby's gas station on Rochester Road in Gasport at around 6:30 p.m. Details from that robbery are that a white male, 5-foot 8-inches and 150 pounds, wearing a tan coat and mask with holes cut in it for eyes, displayed a knife at the store. He then fled and was seen walking towards the railroad tracks to the north of the store. Some reports state that the coat and mask were left behind at Crosby's, as well. Photos from the scene show investigators putting a tan coat into a Crime Scene Unit SUV.

The robberies have not publicly been said to be connected by NCSO.

The Sunoco station on South Transit Road in the Town of Lockport was swarming with police late Sunday night.
