Niagara County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 29-year-old Lockport man early Tuesday morning, charging him with falsely reporting an incident.
According to the police report, patrol responded to 6732 Akron Road, Apartment 5 for a report of a 15-year-old male with a shotgun threatening to harm himself. The original call came through Crisis Services. The phone number on the call came back to William Kosztowniak, who resides at the Akron Road address.
When NCSO arrived on scene, Kosztowniak "stated that he had been drinking and that him and his buddy came up with this joke," the report states. Kosztowniak further stated that no one wanted to harm themselves and it was only a joke.
Kosztowniak was remanded to Niagara County Jail on $500 bail and had a Town of Lockport Court date set for Thursday.
