Houghton College Adult Education Center will hold an open house from 4-7 p.m. at the Kenan Center's Taylor Theater.

The open house is designed to familiarize people with Houghton College and encourage registration in any one of their many degree programs.

Established in 1991, the Houghton College Adult Education program (formerly known as P.A.C.E.) has allowed adults the ability to complete their bachelor's degree quickly and conveniently in as little as 17 months. The program has since expanded to locations in Olean in 1993, Jamestown in 2002, and most recently into Lockport in 2013.

Beginning in March, Houghton is adding a bachelor of business administration degree with major focuses in: management, human resources management, leadership development, and integrated marketing and communication. The college already offered a bachelor of science degree.

“For several years now Houghton’s adult degree program has set the standard for others to follow by offering a general degree in management that broadly applies to many different professions, industries, and positions,” states Ken Bates, a long standing professor in the Adult Education program. “The degree has catapulted the careers of nurses, accountants, technicians, engineers, salespersons, and entrepreneurs alike further in their careers. While we will continue to provide this now popular option, we’re thrilled to now also offer more focused degree options.”

The college will offer full online programs in addition to the new degrees and majors.

In addition to tonight's open house, there will be a second Lockport open house on Feb. 4 as well as two open houses at their West Seneca campus on Jan. 21 and Feb. 11  All open houses are scheduled from 4-7 p.m.
