Niagara County Sheriff's deputies responded late Monday night to a robbery call at the Jolly Roger Citgo gas station, 2065 River Road in the town of Wheatfield.
According to the report, an unknown male entered the store with a gun and stole money.
"He walked up to the counter and pointed a long gun at (the cashier) and stated, 'give me all the money,'" the report states. The cashier removed an unknown amount of money and handed it to the male, who exited the store on foot.
The assailant was a white male in his mid 30s with a medium build. He wearing blue jeans and unknown shoes. He had a black mask over the bottom part of his face and was wearing black sunglasses. He also had a skully hat on his head and a navy blue hooded sweatshirt with the hood over his head.
The gun appeared to be a black long gun and most of it was covered with a black plastic bag.
The owner of the store showed patrol camera footage of the incident which showed that the male had entered from the east on foot and exited the store on foot, heading eastbound.
Police are not saying whether Monday night's robbery has any connection to the ongoing string of robberies in Niagara County over the past three weeks. The assailant loosely fits the description of the other robberies that have been reported, but in previous reportings, the suspect(s) used a small semi-automatic handgun.
Since Christmas Eve, there have been armed robberies reported at:
In a majority of the robberies, the suspects have been described as white males, approximately 5-foot-six to 6-feet tall, of medium build. In most instances, the one suspect brandishes a weapon and demands money while the accomplice remains silent. In the instance of the Newfane home invasion, the accomplice was believed to be a female, approximately 19 or 20 years old, 5-foot-8-inches and thin.
Police are asking the public to remain observant in and around local businesses. They are also asking for any tips or information regarding the robberies be called in to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office 24-hour. line at 438-3393 or during business hours to Investigator Brian Schell at 438-3328 or Investigator William Evans at 438-3335.
