Lake Effect Ice Cream is planning to expand.

The artisan ice cream company on Canal Street in Lockport said via their Facebook page on Tuesday that Wegmans would like to carry the brand in all of their Western New York stores. The grocery chain already carries Lake Effect at select stores.

The company added that they're going to have to look for a larger kitchen space for ice cream production.

"We've had a few people offer areas in their homes for us to make ice cream... I'm thinking they might have an ulterior motive," the post said.

The company moved into their Canal Street location from Lock Street a year ago.

One Facebook user suggested Lake Effect look into having their ice cream delivered by drones.
