APPLETON -- Psychic Medium Ivy Rivera will conduct a
workshop titled: "Psychic abilities, Mediumship and Empathic Means. What is the difference?" at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Winery at Marjim Manor.

After explaining the basics, she’ll walk attendees through the first steps to determine their innate abilities.

As a child, Rivera was clairvoyant, empathic, communicative and could see spirits, but didn't know she was able to give a reading. Alongside the medium who discovered her, Rivera agreed to develop her abilities and gave her first reading when she was 16 years old.

“It was then, when I was child, I found out this ability ran in my family. No one had done it professionally until I did."

Her home base, The Ivy League Academy, offers various classes and lectures including Reiki, tarot, psychic mediumship development, open circle, astrology, yoga, mindfulness, paranormal training, and anything else you could possibly need for spiritual development. Rivera firmly believes that
mediumship is essential to our well-being and balance: “Through your intuition and connection with spirit and the universe, you can better understand who you are and what your calling is in life. You can prevent negative energy from coming into your life, you can heal where negative energy has been present, and most importantly move yourself forward on a path that feels true to you. You can enjoy your life to the fullest, and have a more positive outlook for yourself and those around you.”

“I don’t believe abilities are necessarily 'the gift,' everybody has the potential to develop them.  I felt a need to help people to overcome their fears and doubts so that they could become unblocked and truly be themselves and not be afraid of their potentials — this lead me to organize a small class, which has turned into multiple courses and developmental programs. My mission is to send well-intentioned people into the world, so we can all start spreading more positivity and understanding, while also changing the stigma of what it means to have psychic, mediumistic, and empathic abilities.”
