ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
Six-year-olds might not understand the value of money, but at least one Lockport youngster showed recently that she understand the value of people.
The young girl, named Violet, is the grand-daughter of a Lockport CARES volunteer. She wanted to hep the children at the homeless shelter and decided to make rubber band bracelets, necklaces and rings, which she sold, raising $11.
Violet then asked her grandma to donate her money to Lockport CARES to help the children that find themselves at the shelter. '
Pictured is the hand written note from Violet and her Grandma and the money raised. The second picture is of a past guest's child waiting to leave for school in the living room at the Shelter . He is wearing the Spiderman back pack and has a matching lunchbox that was purchased by CARES staff for his first day of school.
