TOWN OF LOCKPORT -- A 50-year-old Lockport man was charged Tuesday with DWI following a South Transit Road traffic stop.
According to New York State Police, Albert J. Franco was observed on South Transit Road, swerving in and out of his lane and slamming on his brakes.
While being interviewed, Troopers detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from Franco. He was determined to be intoxicated and transported to SP Lockport for processing which revealed a blood alcohol content of 0.16%, twice the legal limit.
Franco was issued additional traffic tickets for moving from the lane unsafely, failure to keep right, and possession of an open container. He's due to return to Town of Lockport Court on Feb. 11.
