The Lockport Express fell 4-1 to the Jersery Shore Wildcats in their second game of the weekend, but still gained ground in the team's hunt to make the NA3EHL playoffs thanks to their Route 31 rivals, the Roc City Royals defeating the Syracuse Stampede.
Lockport got on the board first Sunday afternoon at Cornerstone CFCU Arena with a goal by Jordan Pocobello at 16:08 of the first period. Brendan McFall and Jake Andriaccio assisted. From there, it was all Jersey Shore.
The Wildcats had goals from Craig Berry, Marcus McCall, and Freddie Schaljo -- and and empty netter by Michael Fary to close out scoring.
The loss gives Lockport an 18-17-7 record on the season, good for 43 points -- still four points ahead of fifth-place Syracuse, who lost 4-3 against Roc City, keeping them at 39 points for the season. Lockport and Syracuse will close the season out against one another on March 5 and 6. Lockport now needs just one point to secure the fourth and final playoff spot.
