Lockport families are invited to explore St. Mary School Swormville during an open house from 12:15 - 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 31.

St. Mary’s, 6919 Transit Road in East Amherst, offers faith-based education for kindergarten through 8th Grade and a Montessori preschool program for ages three to six. Transportation is available for Lockport students.

The school’s STREAM curriculum integrates engineering and technology into science, religion, arts and math programs. Consistently ranked among the top Western New York schools, St. Mary’s features technology-rich classrooms and a state-of-the-art science lab.

“We have so much to offer your child – challenging academics, a supportive and safe environment and our Catholic faith woven throughout all their student experiences,” said Mary Jo Aiken, principal.

Beyond the classroom, St. Mary’s has an extensive sports program, which includes baseball, swimming, basketball, volleyball, softball, bowling, track and soccer. Several of these sports are available to those as young as kindergarten. Other activities include performing arts, reading clubs, art and music programs and STREAM Academies. Students regularly share their time, talent and treasure with those in need by participating in service projects.

Tuition assistance and after-school care is available and busing is offered to students within a 15-mile radius of the St. Mary’s campus.

St. Mary’s Open House begins Catholic Schools Week, the annual celebration of the spirit and accomplishments of the nation’s Catholic schools.  St. Mary’s students, faculty and parents will participate in various classroom and community events throughout the week, culminating with a Family Mass and breakfast on Feb. 6.
