ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
LEWISTON -- Niagara-Wheatfield School District had a lockout this afternoon of the school's senior high school and middle school, both on their Saunders Settlement Road campus, but it was lifted shortly after it was enacted.
A message released from Superintendent Daniel Ljiljanich states, "local law enforcement are on the scene clearing the premises. The district is taking all precautionary measures. All students and staff are safe."
The high school was slated to have a ninth-grade orientation this evening, but it has been canceled and will be rescheduled.
Police have not explained the reason for the lockout, but reiterated that no students or staff were in harm's way and that an investigation was being conducted.
We'll bring you more details as we get them.
