A 34-year-old Lockport man taken into custody Saturday morning and held by the FBI on allegations of multiple bank robberies was charged Tuesday with bank robbery and attempted bank robbery.
David Foltz is accused of holding up the Canandaigua National Bank and Trust in Rochester, where he allegedly displayed handgun a well as "a device with green buttons and black wires."
He is also accused of attempting to hold up the Chase Bank in Brockport, where prosecutors say he got suspicious an alarm was activated and left the bank, correctly believing that a bank teller had seen the gun he was hidind.
Foltz also stands accused of robbing banks in Brooklyn and Erie, Pa. If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in prison.
