ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau is investigating two separate incidents involving unoccupied vehicles being struck with a “buckshot” shotgun round.
Sheriff's Office officials believe both incidents occurred between 7 and 10 p.m. Sunday. One occurred in the area of Lake Road and Quaker Road in the Town of Somerset, while the second occurred on Transit Road, south of Lake Road, in the Town of Newfane.
The damaged vehicles were parked near the roadway at the time and witnesses stated they observed a dark colored car with wide tail lights and a loud exhaust leaving the area.
Police say it appears that the unknown suspect is shooting from the vehicle while possibly still moving.
Anyone with any information regarding the incidents is asked to contact the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office 24-hour line at 438-3393 or call Inv. Jeff Pytlik during normal business hours
