ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
WILLIAMSVILLE -- Tops Friendly Markets today announced that it will assume operations at the site of the current Sanborn Marketplace store, 2956 Saunders Settlement Road in Sanborn, in early 2016. Tops has reached an agreement with Benderson Development, which owns the property, to open a store at the site.
More than $1 million will be invested in the store, nearly doubling the size of the current retail site and keeping a local grocer in the Sanborn community.
“We are excited at becoming part of the Sanborn community,” said John Persons, Tops Markets president and COO. “Sanborn residents will soon enjoy an expanded product variety, enhanced décor, and an extensive selection of fresh produce as well as natural and organic items.”
Tops offered all current associates of Sanborn Marketplace the opportunity to apply for employment with Tops.
“Hiring from within the communities we serve is important to us, so community members can anticipate seeing the same, familiar faces when shopping at the store,” said Persons.
In 2016, Tops will host a ‘sneak preview’ event at the store where Tops officials will discuss details on the renovation as well as a pledge of commitment to the Sanborn community.
East Niagara Post is the official media sponsor of Hockey Day in Lockport.
