BUFFALO -- For the second time in five days, the Buffalo Sabres lost a close game to the St. Louis Blue, falling Monday night by a score of 2-1.

The Sabres held a lead into the third period on a David Legwand goal at 16:45 of the second period, but Saint Louis' Troy Brouwer and Robby Fabbri each had third-period goals to give the visiting team the win.

Buffalo next plays the Nashville Predators at First Niagara Center on Wednesday.

NOTES:

  • With the loss, the Sabres have now lost each of their last eight games against the Blues, including the last three meetings at First Niagara Center.
  • David Legwand scored his first goal as a member of the Sabres. Legwand leads all Sabres with 36 points (13+23) in 78 games against St. Louis.
  • Jake McCabe led all Sabres with an ice time of 21:51, the second highest TOI of his career.
  • Zach Bogosian logged 21:43 of ice time and is now averaging 22:10 in his three games since returning from a lower-body injury that sidelined him for the first 18 games of the season.
