ENP STAFF REPORTS

TOWN OF TONAWANDA -- A 40-year-old Lockport man was charged Tuesday with multiple felonies, accused of swindling a couple out of thousands of dollars.
According to the Town of Tonawanda Police, Vincent E. Brege Jr. was charged with third-degree grand larceny and first-degree scheming to defraud -- both felonies -- after accepting $5,000 from the couple in April for a remodeling project that he never started. Brege was doing business as “Affordable Contracting.”
Police say the couple called police after Brege stopped communicating with them and it became apparent that the work wasn’t going to be performed.
Brege was charged in September with a nearly-identical crime by New York State Police.
Brege was arraigned in Town of Tonawanda Court this morning and remanded to the Erie County Holding Center with no bail. He is due to return to court on Monday.
