WALL, N.J. -- For the third straight day, the Lockport Express played the Jersey Shore Wildcats at Jersey Shore Arena -- and for the third straight day, the Express came out on the losing end.

Sunday morning, the Wildcats beat the Lockport Junior A hockey team by a score of 6-3.

The Wildcats started the scoring at 2:59 of the first period on a John Rubin goal assisted by Drew Brown and JaColbie McGowan. Lockport tied the game at 8:27 with a power play goal by Josh Evoy, asssisted by Brendan McFall and Jordan Pocobello. Christian Cooley put Jersey up 2-1 at 15:50, assisted by Freddie Schaljo and Alexander Tan. Dylan Plsek made it 3-1 with a power play goal assisted by Jared Karas and Cooley with just 2 seconds to go in the period.

The Wildcats widened their lead in the second period with a pair of goals by Frederic Ampleman. The first came at 1:00, assisted by Dylan Plsek and Karas. The second was at the 5:00 mark, assisted by Tan and Plsek. Pocobello scored a second goal for Lockport at 13:56, assisted by McFall and Erick Santiago.

Cooley scored another power play goal for Jersey Shore 10:15 into the third period, assisted by Karas and Ampleman. Lockport's Frank Vecchio Jr. closed out the scoring at 11:03, assisted by Nicholas Wilcox and Frankie Bodami.

For the second straight game, the Express and Wildcats had a major fight during the game, resulting in ejections. Sunday it was Pocobello and Schaljo who had a fight about midway through the third period. Both were tossed from the game.

Lockport, now 9-9-4, next takes on the Roc City Royals in Rochester Saturday and Sunday.
