A pair of Harvey Avenue men were arrested by Lockport police overnight and charged in connection with a string of burglaries committed in the city over the past three months.
According to the Lockport Police Department, 18-year-old Terrence Callaham was charged with numerous counts of second-degree burglary, while 25-year-old Jeffrey Hewitt was charged with a single count of second-degree burglary. Both list 13 Harvey Avenue as their address.
The police department had been investigating a string of overnight burglaries of residential homes, broken into while the residents were asleep inside.
Callaham and Hewitt were caught at a burglary in progress at an East Union Street home at approximately 4 a.m.
"Both suspects were brought to the Lockport Police Dept. where they were interviewed by the Detective Division and ultimately confessed to their actions," according to a press release by LPD.
Further charges are pending at this time against both suspects,
