Robert H. Strassel, age 55, passed away suddenly alongside his beloved dog Ellie during the early morning hours on October 19, 2015.

Born in Buffalo on October 31, 1959, he is the son of Susan Hixson Strassel of Lockport and the late James E. Strassel. Robert will always be remembered as being a very family oriented father, husband, brother and son. He was extremely proud of his three children and their accomplishments and he was always a phone call away. He was always willing to help others, especially his mother, checking in with her every day to see if she needed any help. He enjoyed spending time with family and his dog Ellie. He had many hobbies including music, animals, and cars- especially his 2014 Camaro.

Besides his mother, Robert is also survived by his beloved wife of 32 years Deborah (Richards) Strassel of Lockport; father of Robert D. (Miriam) Strassel of Warsaw, Alyssa R. Strassel of Seneca Falls, and Brittany M. Strassel of Lockport; grandfather of Oakley S. and Raynden B. Strassel; brother of Trisha (Thomas) Honan, Lisa (Rick) DeWaters, and Marcy A. Strassel; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held Friday, Oct. 23rd at 10 AM at Christ Episcopal Church, Fieldcrest Dr. & Rochester Rd., Lockport. Memorial donations to Save-A-Pet of Niagara County and Christ Episcopal Church of Lockport would be appreciated by the family.
