BROOKLYN — The Lockport Express was grounded Saturday night by the league leading New York Aviators, 5-1.
Lockport's lone goal came on the power play by Dylan Jenkins in the third period. Jenkin's goal, at 16:58, was assisted by Josh Evoy.
New York had goals by Jimmy Warrick (from Eric Hewitt) at 9:29 of the first period, Daniel Backstrom (from Robert Kalata) at 8:36 of the second, Gunther Stange (on the power play from Sam Shaheen and Ricky Regala) at 14:33 of the second, Backstrom again (from Jimmy Warrick and Ricky Regala) at 18:49 of the third and Regala (on the power play from Seth Muzyl and Alex Rojas) at 19:20 of the third.
With the loss, Lockport's record is now 4-4-1, placing them in third in the NA3EHL West. Lockport and New York face off again at 12:20 p.m.
