ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
A 23-year-old Lockport man, walking down West Avenue early Sunday morning led Lockport Police on a foot chase after yelling obscenities at them, according to LPD.
Jonathan C. Beaver, 133 West Ave., was charged around 1 a.m. Sunday with disorderly conduct and second-degree obstruction of government administration.
According to the LPD report, patrol was on its way to a report of a disturbance when they ran into Beaver walking down the middle of the roadway, yelling obscenities at them. When police stopped to talk to him, he yelled obscenities again and fled north on Hawley Street.
"Patrol pursued on foot for a short distance before Beaver stumbled over some debris near a tree and fell to the ground," the report said. He attempted to get up, leading patrol to draw their weapon on him, which brought his compliance.
He continued to swear at patrol as he was brought to his feet and arrested.
Beaver was to be in City Court this morning.
