ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
Lockport Express forward Andrew Logar was named the Western Division star of the week by the the NA3EHL.
Eighteen-year-old Andrew, the younger of the team's Logar brothers, recorded nine points in a pair of games at the NA3EHL Showcase in Massachusetts over the past weekend.
He tallied a goal and two assists in a 6-4 win over the Maine Wild on Saturday. A day later, he assisted on six of the team's 13 goals against the Northeast Generals. He has a total of 14 points in 12 games this season.
“Andrew is new to the junior level but I have coached him previously and have watched him develop over the years," Express Head Coach Frank Vecchio said. "He is very skilled, works hard and seemingly gets more acclimated to the junior game every ice time. He is a real asset for our program."
Jersey Shore Wildcats forward Frederic Ampleman got the league's second star, while a second younger Express brother -- Devin Kasperek -- was given an honorable mention. Other honorable mentions went to Rocco DeRollo of the Syracuse Stampede, Scott Hansen of the Jersey Shore Wildcats, and Kyle VanWagner of Syracuse.
