Mabel L. Criswell, age 91 of Lockport entered into rest on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Odd Fellow & Rebekah Rehab & Health Care Center.
Born March 16, 1924 in Medina she was the daughter of the late Daniel J. and Marion E. (Schryver) Howe. Mabel married Erwin R. Criswell, Jr. on May 9, 1942 in Franklinville, NY. They had been married for 69 years. She worked different jobs during her lifetime and retired from Packaging Corp. of America in Lockport. She was a member of the Ridgewood Bible Church and exempt member of the Wrights Corners Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crafts and spending time with her family. Mabel had lived in Wrights Corners since 1950, previously of Delevan, NY.
She was the wife of the late Erwin R. Criswell, Jr.; dear mother of Rev. David (Leslie) Criswell of Tunnell Hill, GA, Maureen (Ronald) Farley of Lockport, Larry Criswell of Manchester, NH, Nancy (Gary) Myers of Lockport, and Daniel (Valerie) Criswell of Lockport. Mabel was predeceased by a son, Erwin “Ronnie” Criswell, III. She is the sister of June Hobson of Delevan, NY and the late Anna Wilson, Emma Wagner, Marie Potter, Gordon Howe, and Ida Howe; 12 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; also several nieces, nephews also survibe her along with her extended family at Orchard Manor and Odd Fellow & Rebekah Rehab & Health Care Center.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Mabel’s life Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015 at 11 AM at the Solid Rock Assembly of God, Rochester Road, Gasport with Pastor David Hayes officiating. Interment will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery, Lockport at the convenience of the family.
