“The Frankfurters” will perform their unique Bavarian-Swiss music at an
Oktoberfest celebration benefiting the Niagara History Center Oct. 10.
(CONTRIBUTED PHOTO)
Join the Niagara County History Center at Oktoberfest from 6-10 p.m. Oct. 10, for an ethnic celebration of Bavarian food and music at Wrights Corners Fire Hall, 4043 Lake Ave.

Attendees will be treated to Donna Eick’s buffet dinner of delicious German food, featuring all the old-fashioned Oktoberfest favorites including bratwurst, roast pork, sauerkraut, sweet and sour cabbage, German potato salad, chef salad and more, plus dessert. There will also be beer, wine and soft drinks for purchase from a cash bar.

After dinner, dance to the sounds of the Frankfurters, an authentic Bavarian-Swiss band, and enjoy traditional Oktoberfest music and instruments. The Frankfurters draw on centuries of Bavarian culture as they present great German entertainment. They’ll play hand-carved wooden Swiss alphorns, a singing-saw and Alpine bells. The Frankfurters will be in fine voice for yodeling, too, for an exciting musical treat all evening long.

Special prize drawings will add to the fun with a chance to win some unique gift items in the basket raffle offering many opportunities to take home wonderful treats and treasures, as well as a drawing for the winner of a handmade Amish Quilt in the “Courthouse Steps” pattern. Quilt drawing tickets are available at the History Center for $1 per ticket or $5 for a book of six.

Tickets for the Oktoberfest benefit evening, including German music and dinner, are $35. Call the History Center for reservations at 434-7433.
