Nick Wilcox, forward for the Lockport Express, was named the NA3EHL West player of the week, the league announced today.
The 18-year-old had nine points over the weekend while the Express swept a three-game series against the Wilkes-Barre Miners, including a hat-trick and two assists in the team's 10-1 win on Saturday. He also had an assist on Friday and three assists Sunday.
“Nick has been a great addition and he had a breakout weekend. He has a lot of potential and we are excited about his future with the Express,” said Lockport head coach Frank Vecchio.
The league's second star went to defenseman Eric Hewitt of the New York Aviators. Another Express player, Andrew Logar, was given an honorable mention, as was Robert Kalata of the Aviators.
The Express and Aviators face off at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Cornerstone CFCU Arena.
