ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A pair of Applewood Drive residents reported suspicious activities on their properties to Niagara County Sheriff's deputies.
The first report was from a woman who said she believed someone damaged her shed on purpose. She said she believed an unknown person or people intentionally damaged the shed sometime between July 4 and Tuesday.
Patrol observed approximately eight 1/2-inch diameter holes on the rear side of the shed, but it was not clear what or who was responsible for the damage. Patrol suspects that fireworks may have been responsible for the damage, but a neighbor allegedly denied his children having any when questioned.
The second report was lodged Thursday when a woman told patrol that she woke up, she discovered several chairs knocked over on her back patio. The woman said she also noticed the flowers were knocked over on her table and discovered a cigarette butt next to her porch.
The woman said she was aware that had been a robbery in the Woodlands earlier in the morning and feared the male may have hidden under her porch.
A crime scene unit responded and documented the scene, securing the cigarette butt for possible DNA testing.
