TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A 35-year-old Akron man was charged today with first-degree robbery and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon following an armed robbery early this morning in the Woodlands Mobile Home Park.

According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, the suspect, Greg Longwell, had contacted the victim by telephone and said he needed to talk. The victim went outside and got into the suspects car where he was robbed at gunpoint. The victim was able to grab the gun away from Longwell, as well as his car keys, and went back inside his home, while Longwell fled on foot around 3:17 a.m.

Eventually NCSO caught up with Longwell and charged him. He was arraigned at the Town of Cambria Court on the charges and has a return court date in the Town of Lockport Court on July 21. Longwell was remanded to the Niagara County Jail with bail set at $25,000 Cash or $50,000 Property Bond.
