TOWN OF LOCKPORT — Two people were taken to Erie County Medical Center early this afternoon following a crash on South Transit Road.

According to New York State Police, initial investigation indicated a red pickup truck traveling north on South Transit Road, traveling in the left lane of traffic, drove to the right striking a black SUV which was also traveling north on South Transit Road in the right lane of traffic. After the impact, both the red pickup truck and the black SUV lost control and drove to the left, which forced the black SUV into the rear of a gray sedan, which was stopped, attempting to make a left turn onto Dunnigan Road. This resulted in the black SUV overturning onto its roof.

The occupants of the black SUV were transported to ECMC by Rural Metro with minor head injuries. Names are being withheld pending further investigation.
