ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
WHEATFIELD — The Lockport Rampage lost their first regular-season divisional game in two years Saturday as the Nickel City Kings used overtime — and possibly illegal tactics — to win 14-8.
The Rampage's only score came from Darrell Keith as he advanced a Derrick Adams fumble from the one-yard line. Rampage GM Roland Davis said the team's defense "played a very tough game but was put in tough situations due to seven offensive turnovers."
Davis said the game is in the process of being protested due to "mandatory league protocol that was not followed and Nickel City having players from other Buffalo-area teams."
As of right now, the Rampage is 4-1 in league regular season play. Their next game is July 25 when they travel to Olean to play the 1-4 Southern Tier Diesel.
