Buffalo Sabres' new forward Ryan O'Reilly was charged with impaired driving and failing to remain on the scene of an accident.
According to Canadian media report, the center was charged with driving while impaired and leaving the scene of an accident after crashing into a Tim Hortons restaurant in Lucan, Ontario early Thursday morning.
Buffalo Sabres General Manager Tim Murray has released a statement regarding the incident saying, "We are aware of the reports regarding the incident involving Ryan O’Reilly last week. We are currently in the process of gathering more information and will have no further comment until we have spoken with all parties involved.”
O'Reilly, who was acquired by the Sabres from the Colorado Avalanche on June 26, the first day of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, signed a seven-year, $52.5 million contract extension with the Sabres on July 2.
