TOWN OF LOCKPORT — An Akron Road man was charged Tuesday with stealing items from Super Walmart on South Transit Road.

According to the report from the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, Mark Nettleton, 6728 Akron Road, was seen by store security taking a fishing pole from the store without paying for it. Security believed that Nettleton may have also taken a charger for a computer.

When NCSO found Nettleton at his address, patrol asked him where he was going and he said "I'm going fishing." Patrol explained to him that he was seen at Walmart shoplifting and asked for an explanation. Nettleton originally said that he hadn't done anything wrong. He then stated that he forgot to pay for the fishing pole. Finally, he admitted that he took the fishing pole but he will repay Walmart. Patrol asked about the computer cable, which he then also admitted stealing.

He was charged and transported to Niagara County Jail on $500 police bail. He was slated to be arraigned in Town of Lockport Court on Thursday.

Patrol returned the property back to Walmart.
