Saturday's Lockport Community Market will have new vendors and
entertainment. (ENP FILE PHOTO / HEATHER N. GRIMMER)
This Saturday will feature activities, live entertainment and new vendors at the Lockport Community Market on Canal Street.

The Lockport Community Market, which runs every Saturday from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. through September, is a family-friendly, open-air market with live entertainment, activities and demonstrations, and a multitude of vendors each week offering fresh produce, meat, baked goods, local wine, jewelry, unique gifts, and much more.

Vendors will vary from week to week, as the market continues to add new ones. Vendors are still being accepted each week as space allows. To apply to be a vendor, contact Heather Peck at 434-0212, or visit www.LockportCommunityMarket.com.

New vendors joining us this week include:
  • Challenger Learning Center:  Information on NASA and other handouts.  Demonstrations of the robotic creatures that will be created in their WeDo LEGO mini-camps where kids will learn how to program in LEGO language.
  • C. Miller Portraits: Portraits
  • Different Wood: Wood crafts
  • Emily White: International bestselling author of the Auri Wars series. She will be selling the first two books of the series, ʺElementalʺ and ʺFae.ʺ
  • Feather Art: Feather jewelry and fans.
  • Lo- Kel Creations: Variety of homemade/handmade items.
  • Three Sisters Bakery: Freshly made baked goods.  Everything from pies to cookies, brownies, bread and more.
  • Tie-Dye Polly: Tie-Dye t-shirts and scarves made by hand.
  • Wine Cork Bird Houses by David McKenna: Bird feeders, garden stakes, kids’ houses, butterfly houses.
Live entertainment can be found each week in the Canal Street gazebo, and activties for children and adults will be conducted throughout the season.

This week's activities include:
  • 7 - 8 a.m.: FREE Yoga classes before the Market opens at the Canal Street gazebo.
  • 9 - 10 a.m.: Original artist Drew Xavier Richter performs at the Canal Street Gazebo.
  • 1 - 2 p.m.: Local musician Luke Hall performs at the Canal Street Gazebo.
SNAP EBT (food stamps) for all food stamp eligible products will be accepted by participating vendors. SNAP EBT Card users can also double their benefits up to $20 per market visit as the Lockport Community Market has once again been selected to participate in “Double Up Food Bucks,” a grant-funded program through nonprofit Field & Fork Network that doubles the amount of money SNAP EBT Card users can spend to purchase New York-grown fruits and vegetables at the market. When customers use their EBT Card to shop at the market, they get a dollar-for-dollar match in DUFB tokens, up to $20 per market day. Stop by the market information booth by the Canal Street gazebo for more information.
