Voting to decide the male and female faces of Lockport for the Sesquicentennial Celebration has begun on the Lockport 150 Facebook page.

Six females and four males are up for the title of Miss Lockport and Mr. Lockport, respectively. The females are Alyssa Benton, Angelo Boes, Melissa Boes, Ayla Davis, Lyndsey Lou Devine, and Lea Sobieraski. The males are Nick D’Angelo, Demetrius Grant, Josh Incardona, and Stephen Kojsza.

Each contestant, between the ages of 21 and 29, has submitted a photo of themselves (or had one submitted for them), as well as a brief bio explaining why they would make a good Mr. or Miss Lockport.

The winners in each category — male and female — will have the opportunity to take part in all official Lockport Sesquicentennial Celebration events free of charge and get a special VIP view of the week's events, including the ability to serve as marshal of the Independence Day parade, emcee the Lockport All Star Jam, play on the City of Lockport kickball team, be a judge at Taste of Lockport and more.

To vote, people simply have to like and publicly share the Lockport 150 Facebook page and then like the post with the photo and bio or who they’re voting for. Votes cast by people who haven’t liked or publicly shared the Lockport 150 Facebook page will not be counted.

Whoever has the most likes in each category at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday (June 16) will be named as the winners. The photos and bios were posted Tuesday night (June 9).
