Lockport's Historic Palace Theatre will be hosting a Bootleggers Ball in the heart of downtown Lockport on July 15. The roaring 20s themed event promises something for everyone.
A street party will take place outside in front of the Palace with a wide variety of entertainment including live music performed by Jonesie and the Cruisers, food vendors including Scripts Cafe, a beer tent for those of legal drinking age, and a costume contest for the best flapper and bootlegger in town. Meanwhile, inside there will be gambling tables and spotlight performances from the cast of this summers production of Guys & Dolls.
Tickets are $10 with all proceeds going to the Palace Theatre, owned and operated by a non-profit organization, Historic Palace Inc. Located in downtown Lockport, the Historic Palace Theatre was built in 1925, by Charles Dickenson. The proscenium arch style space is noted as the gem of the city.
For more information contact the Palace Theatre at 438-1130 or visit www.lockportpalacetheatre.org.
