A man is in the emergency room at Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport following a one-car accident around 9 a.m. at the corner of Locust and High streets.

According to police, it appears that the man was eastbound on High Street when his silver sedan went through the light at Locust Street, veering slightly to the left before crashing into the concrete steps on a High Street home.

The man's vehicle had heavy front end damage and tire marks on the sidewalk and grass show that he narrowly missed hitting a tree.

Police believe the accident to be a result of a medical condition, although an investigation is ongoing. The man's identity was not released.

The silver sedan slammed into the porch of this High Street home, damaging the porch, as well as the car.
