As part of the city's 150th birthday, the Lockport Sesquicentennial Committee is asking city restaurants to join in offering special deals for "Restaurant Days" from June 29 - July 1.
"The idea of this event is to bring people from our neighboring area to enjoy our local restaurants," according to committee member Brandy Martucci in a letter sent to local restaurants. "How we plan on making this possible is by asking you to come up with a few 'special' menu options for these three days to be made available for purchase at the price of $15."
For example, restaurants can do a $15 dinner special or even a two-person lunch special for $15.
"We want to showcase your local restaurants and a preview for what people can enjoy during the Taste of Lockport," the letter to restaurants states.
Participating restaurants will be advertised as being part of both Restaurant Days and the Sesquicentennial events.
One restaurant ― the Pleasant Valley Tavern — has already signed on as a participant, with a planned feature of two burgers and two beers for $15, according to PVT manager Simon Chavers.
Any restaurant wishing to take part is asked to email lockport150@gmail.com.
