TOWN OF LOCKPORT — An unknown male walked out of Super Walmart recently with $1,696 worth of electronics.

According to a report filed with the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, Walmart personnel found that a few items were missing from the electronics department and found via in-store video surveillance that a male had walked out the front door with a 50-inch LED television and two desktop computers shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday.

The report says that the male had been dropped off by an orange Ford Focus hatchback with a sunroof around 11:03 p.m., entering the store via the grocery side doors. He walked to the electronics department with a shopping cart, put the computers in the cart and set the television on top of it before pushing the cart out the first exit doors on the south side of the car, where he put them in the orange Ford Focus. He got into the passenger seat of the vehicle and the driver left the parking lot.

The suspect is described as a white male in a white shirt. The vehicle appears to be a 2005 Focus, according to the report. It had a strip of colored tape covering the front and back plate to obscure what appeared to be a New York license plate.

Walmart personnel say that this is the third store in the area within six days that has had a larceny of electronics. The vehicle and suspect descriptions are the same — and the larcenies all occurred between 11 and 11:30 p.m.

The case remains under investigation.

  1. I think they need to hire a few more people to man the doors and check your receipts like they do at BJ'S club.
