Phillip J. Gonzales
TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A 19-year-old Lockport man was charged with assault and weapons charges after New York State Police say he injured someone with a battery from a drill.

According to NYSP, Phillip J. Gonzales threw the hand drill battery and hit the complainant on the left side of his face, causing an injury. Gonzales then attempted to instigate a fight with the complainant before fleeing the scene while police were being called.

Gonzales later returned to the residence, where he was charged with felony assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon with intent to use.

He was taken to State Police Lockport barracks for processing and arraigned at the Town of Lockport Court, where he is scheduled to return on Thursday.
