The City of Lockport has chosen the third full week of each month now through September for yard-waste pickup.
Yard waste will be picked up on regular trash day during the weeks beginning on April 20, May 18, June 15, July 20, Aug. 17, and Sept. 21.
Acceptable items include pruning’s, brush/hedge trimmings, thatch from raking, old flower/vegetable plants, leaves and mulch. Unacceptable items include grass, pet waste, plastic, tree stumps, railroad ties, landscape timber, and construction stones.
Residents must place yard debris in containers with a total weight less than 40 pounds and/or utilize paper kraft bags. No plastic bags will be accepted. Materials must be placed at the streetline or curb of a public street by 7 a.m. on normal trash collection day to ensure pickup on your scheduled trash collection day.
