TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A pair of Niagara Falls men were charged Saturday — in separate incidents — of having contraband in the Niagara County Jail.

The first incident happened around 3:55 p.m. when Eric J. Bartram, 37, 9037 Zito Dr., Apt. 17, Niagara Falls, was found to have suspected marijuana and Suboxone on him during a strip search.

Zito was charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband, seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was arraigned in Town of Lockport Court and returned to the Niagara County Jail with $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond.

The second incident happened less than 40 minutes later when corrections officers were searching the cell of Michael Anthony Quarcini, 41, 1622 8th St., Niagara Falls and came across what they believed to be marijuana and Suboxone, as well.

Quarcini was charged with first-degree promoting prisoner contraband, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was arraigned at the Town of Lockport Court by Judge Antkowiak, who issued no bail, sending him back to the Niagara County Jail.

In both cases, the suspected marijuana and Suboxone were sealed in evidence bags and secured in NCSO evidence lockers for testing. Both men are to return to Town of Lockport Court on Thursday.
