TOWN OF LOCKPORT — An Oxford Lane man told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies on Saturday that someone damaged his mailbox.
The man said the damage occurred between 6 p.m. Thursday and 10:30 a.m. Saturday when an unknown person attempted to gain entry to his locked mailbox, apparently by trying to pry it open with an unknown object. Although there were visible pry marks, entry was not made.
The complainant told patrol that there is damage to a few other mailboxes, but he is unsure whether the damage is old or new. The total cost of damage is approximately $50.
The investigation is closed pending new information.
