East Niagara residents making the trek to the Buffalo St. Patrick's Day Parade Sunday are sure to see some familiar faces.
Three local fire companies — Wrights Corners, Miller Hose and South Lockport — have made plans to have units in the parade, as has Lockport's William J. Ryan Div. of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians, according to Brigid Knott, chief of staff for the parade.
Tim Williams, assistant chief of the Wrights Corners Vol. Fire Co., said his department will be in the parade eight-men strong.
Having done it in previous years, Williams said some of the company's members wanted to get in on Western New York's largest parade again.
"We didn't do it last year and some of the kids showed an interest in going this year," he said.
The company's white and green 100th anniversary Pierce pumper truck will go nicely in the Irish-themed march down Delaware Avenue.
The annual parade starts Sunday at 2 p.m.
