TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A vehicle fire on Strauss Road early Sunday morning in being investigated.
According to a report filed by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, patrol was called to the vehicle fire around 1:23 a.m. Sunday, where they found a 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo fully engulfed in the parking lot.
South Lockport Fire Co. responded and extinguished the fire.
Patrol met with the caller, who said they saw the flames and called 911, but hadn't seen anyone around the vehicle prior to the fire. The owner of the vehicle told patrol that they had parked the vehicle around 4 p.m. The owner stated that a friend had removed the radio the previous day and that work was done to the heating unit a few days prior.
The vehicle was towed for further investigation. No injuries were reported.
