State Sen. Rob Ortt
WASHINGTON, DC — State Sen. Rob Ortt has been invited to see President Barack Obama deliver his State of the Union Address tonight in the chamber of the United States House of Representatives.

Sen. Ortt, R-North Tonawanda, will be attending the address as Western New York Congressman Chris Collins’ (NY-27) guest.

“I’m truly honored to accompany Representative Collins for the president’s speech tonight,” said Sen. Ortt. I look forward to hearing what President Obama’s vision is for our country, and particularly what he has to say about strengthening our economy and protecting our citizens. While I have stark differences of opinion with the president on a lot of policies, I have tremendous respect for him and the office. I remain hopeful he can turn the rhetoric into reality, bridge the divides in this country and move us forward.”

“It is an honor to have State Senator Rob Ortt, Afghanistan veteran and Bronze Star recipient, as my guest for tonight’s State of the Union,” said Congressman Collins. “State Senator Ortt is a strong partner on issues important to Western New York, and I look forward to working with him.”
