Donald W. “Bill” Bisher of Newfane, NY husband of the late Frances Kozyra Bisher entered into rest peacefully at his residence. He was born in Pendleton, New York on October 28, 1926. Bill was self employed as a carpenter for many years and later in life he worked for Henchel farms. He spent most of his years living in Lockport till coming to Newfane. Bill was a member of the Niagara Falls area American Legion he also spent many years as a volunteer member of the Wrights Corners Fire Co. Bill was an honorably discharged World War II veteran serving in the Marine Corps. from 1944 to 1946 where he was awarded the Purple heart for his service.
Survivors include a sister Dorothy Caraglin of Niagara Falls, a niece Susan (Larry) Dormer of Newfane, a Nephew Steven (Brenda) Perry of Lockport along with several other nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his brothers Gordon Bisher and Melvin Renz and also a sister Catherine Just. The family would like to thank the friends, neighbors and management of the Hamlet square apartment complex for all of their help and friendship.
There will be no prior visitation. Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
