A press release from today from City Treasurer Mike White's office aims to clarify any confusion city residents may have on their recently received tax bills.

Some residents have complained that the tax levy was a different amount than they had believed it would be, causing their tax bills to be higher than anticipated.

The release follows below in its entirety.
Clarification for the 2015 City Tax Bills

2015 City Tax Bills recently mailed show a total tax levy of $12,833,521.

The levy amount on the bill should be $11,711,243. The difference of $1,122,278 is the re-levy amount for unpaid Water, Sewer and Refuse and is not included in the tax rate listed.

This change in Total Tax Levy amount has absolutely no impact on what the property owner is getting billed for.

Rates per $1000 or per Unit at 16.623600 and the actual Tax Amount on the bill is correct as listed.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the City Treasurer's Office at 716-439-6744.
