news@eastniagarapost.com
A 36-year-old Canastota man was charged Wednesday with five counts of petit larceny for allegedly keeping money meant for a Town of Lockport company.
According to New York State Police, John T. Cluett was responsible for handing money he had collected to BBX Inc., but on five separate occasions from August to October, 2014, Cluett, a truck driver for BBX, kept over $650.00 of COD payments for shipping services. Cluett failed to turn in the money although paperwork submitted showed that he was paid by the companies.
Cluett was arrested and processed at SP Lockport and arraigned in the Town of Lockport Court and remanded to Niagara County Jail in lieu of $500 cash.
