TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A 51-year-old Buffalo woman was charged this afternoon with larceny for allegedly walking out of the new Super Walmart on Transit Road without paying for a cart full of merchandise.
According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, Pamela M. Ellender, 63 Deshler St., Buffalo, pushed a full shopping cart out the front door past all points of purchase around 12:29 p.m. When she was confronted by store security, she left the cart in the parking lot and began walking toward South Transit Street.
Store security say the cart had $847.02 worth of merchandise in it, all of which was secured by Walmart.
NCSO located her near the M & T Bank and she admitted that she tried to steal the items and also said she left the cart in the parking lot, according to the report.
Ellender was taken into custody and charged with petit larceny. She was transported to Niagara County Jail and held on $250 bail. She is to appear in Town of Lockport Court on Feb. 12.
